I Built a Trading Robot in One Weekend (and It Survived) — Publishing My First MQL5 Product

My product page, live on the MQL5 Market, September 2026. The video version of this story, now live on my YouTube channel. It was just after midnight on Monday when I saw my trading robot pass its final test. Not a backtest on my own computer, where I control everything — the real test. The MQL5 Market validation server, running my code on symbols I had never tried, on a balance I had never imagined. The log stopped scrolling. The word PASSED appeared four times. And I just sat there in the dark thinking: I built a trading robot, and it works. This is the story of the VitalEdge Gold EA — the trading robot I published on the MQL5 Market this week, how it nearly died four times in one night, and why publishing it felt different from everything else I have done in this journey. Why a Trading Robot? I need to be honest about something first, because this diary only works if I tell the truth. I did not write every line of that robot's code by hand. I wrote it with AI assistan...

About This Blog

"My Journey to the Dream That Never Came Through" is a personal diary blog by Justice Manyika, a guy from Johannesburg, South Africa, documenting the real, unfiltered experience of trying to build an online business. No fluff, no course pitches, no fake success screenshots — just the honest day-to-day reality of chasing a dream that hasn't quite arrived yet.

What This Blog Is About

This isn't a "how to make money online" blog. It's not a success story with a neat bow on top. It's a living, honest record of the journey — the wins, the losses, the rejections, the pivots, and the lessons learned along the way.

I write about:

  • Building and running affiliate marketing campaigns (MaxBounty, ClickBank, Amazon, Digistore24)
  • The reality of Google AdSense — including being rejected five times and what I learned from each rejection
  • Freelancing on Fiverr and what it really takes to rank and get clients
  • WordPress, SEO, and the technical side of running a website on Hostinger
  • Building a YouTube channel from scratch with AI-assisted video production
  • The emotional side of entrepreneurship — doubt, frustration, burnout, and the small wins that keep you going
  • Trading with Expert Advisors on MetaTrader 5 and the reality of algorithmic trading
  • Using AI tools like Base44 to automate business tasks — and the real costs involved

Who I Am

My name is Justice Manyika. I live in Carletonville, a small mining town about an hour west of Johannesburg, South Africa. I work a regular day job and build my online business in the margins — early mornings, late nights, and weekends. I'm not a guru, I'm not a coach, and I don't sell courses. I'm just a guy who decided he was going to figure out how to make money online, and started writing about it.

I started this journey with zero experience — no coding background, no marketing degree, no connections in the tech world. Everything I've learned, I've learned by doing: by buying a domain on Namecheap, installing WordPress on Hostinger, getting approved for MaxBounty, building a WooCommerce store with 168 products, launching a YouTube channel, creating an MT5 trading bot, and writing over 200 articles across two websites.

Why I Started Writing

After being rejected by Google AdSense multiple times, I realized two things: first, that I needed to write better content, and second, that the experience of failing was itself the most valuable content I could share. Most online business blogs show you the highlight reel — the first $10,000 month, the luxury lifestyle, the "quit your 9-to-5" promises. I wanted to show the messy middle. The part where you've spent R2,000 on hosting and made R0 back. The part where you've written 200 articles and Google still says "insufficient content." The part where you're simultaneously proud of how far you've come and terrified that it might never work.

That's the dream that never came through — not yet, at least. And this blog is the diary of that journey.

My Other Projects

  • VitalEdge YouTube Channel — educational videos on health supplements, affiliate marketing, and AI tools
